A few weeks back we visited the Bibbity Bobbity Bootique at Disneyland to celebrate Kayla's 5th birthday. It was fantastic and everything a Disney Princess loving little girl could want. Always one to be looking for tips on how to have a smooth experience, I've got some Bibbity Bobbity Bootique tips to share with you that you probably haven't heard elsewhere.

Easy Football Party Ideas for Game Day
I created my easy football party ideas and snacks for game day as part of a sponsored post for #CollectiveBias #OneBuyForAll
As much as I shake my head and roll my eyes at my very dramatic (when it comes to sports) better half, deep down inside I have a special place for football season. The excitement, the food and lately the fact that Kayla has taken an interest in the game makes it even more enjoyable than I'll let on. So after giving our home a mini home theater makeover it only seemed fair to whip up a game day party. Trust me, when you see how easy it is to put together a cute setup you'll be itching for an excuse to entertain.

A Smart TV and a Safe TV Just in Time for Game Day - Picking Out the Best Electronics
I recently went on the hunt for a new home theater as part of a sponsored post for #CollectiveBias . I scored some great deals on the best electronics at Best Buy and am excited to share them with you #OneBuyForAll
I am not a couponer, a point collector (airline miles aside) or some crazy frugalista. However, I do love to flex my online deal hunting skills once in a while. Especially when it comes to big purchases because really, who likes to overpay or pay more than you really have to? And with a quick Google search we consumers have so much information at our fingertips that even the laziest of bargain hunters can score. Which is precisely what happened to me recently. Times two.

Easy DIY Football Penalty Flags for Game Day
These DIY penalty flags are so easy to make. They're perfect for game day football watching when you know, you need something to throw and yell "bad call ref!" I happen to think they work just as well as the ones you'll see in a party store for $4 each and you can whip up enough for a group in about 10 minutes.

Hello 30's. Hello Lines. Help is Here!
Is anti-aging on your mind because it is on mine! So I checked out some new StriVectin products at Ulta this week as part of a sponsored post for Beautystat and loved what I found!
Yesterday marked one of my favorite days of the year. The day the notice comes out about Craig's annual securities traders conference. Which conveniently takes place at the very lovely La Quinta in Palm Springs. So basically I can spend the next however many weeks thinking about bright Tory Burch prints, flip flops, lemonade, private pools and being responsible for no one at all...for 48 hours.
It also got me thinking about sun, my face, Southern California living and the fact that despite a real estate agent recently asking me if Mrs. Warner was home (I swear it was on purpose and a trick of the trade) I am no longer a twenty something. Sob. I put it out of my mind and headed off to World Market to pick up a little gift for a friend who is newly pregnant.

Drink Pouch Seed Starters - Repurpose Your Drink Pouches
Those drink pouches kids just love actually make perfect seed starters for Spring. See how to repurpose or upcycle drink pouches into seed starters.
It was class party time, I cringed as I saw mini corn dogs on the list as an option and signed up for juice duty. I cringed even more when my 4 year old informed me that she LOVES corn dogs and asked why she only has them at class parties. But back to the juice. I just did a recycling program with Terracycle teaching kids at a local elementary school that you can actually recycle things like drink pouches via Terracycle.

Terracycle and a Commuity Garden - Good Things Come to Those Who Recycle
I started a TerraCycle Brigade and helped build a community garden for an elementary school as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias and their client.
Sometimes, the best things in life fall into your lap and are earned at the same time. You may recall me talking about starting a Terracycle Brigade with a local school a while back. Fast forward a couple of months and those kids really did their part in saving their drink pouches and toothbrushes to recycle in my DIY Monster Recycling bins. And of course they were rewarded, big time. Not just with worms! C'mon people!

Double Check that "Washed" Kale. I Just Ate Bugs. Lots of Em.
So I nearly vommed editing these photos but for those of you out there who trust the "washed" or "triple rinsed" label on your salad greens, here's a nice little wake up call. I got mine this afternoon. In the form of what I can only describe as a thoroughly infested bag of Organic Tuscan Kale (fancy, fancy) from my beloved Trader Joe's. Insert tears here.

It all started while trying to pick out fruit in Trader Joes while Kayla was desperately searching for Pokey. If you're not familiar, "Pokey" is a stuffed animal fish meant to distract your child while you desperately rack your brain on what to feed your family for the week. If you child finds him ( I dunno, I just assume Pokey is a dude) they are rewarded with an organic lollipop upon checkout.

DIY Wind Up Toy Squirrel Valentines
Need a unique Valentine's Day treat that doesn't involve candy or junk food? I love these wind up toy valentines because they are fun, cause kids to ask questions about robotics and sugar free! And no, it's not too soon to talk Valentine's Day because Target is already decked out in pink and red. At least that's my defense and I'm sticking with it.

Mommy Testers 2013 Highlights
Okay, wow. I actually took a little break from writing for some holiday family time and am so excited (hello pent up creativity) to get back to showing you neat things in 2014. But before I do that I figured it wouldn't be an official goodbye 2013 and hello 2014 without recapping some of the cool things that went on in the swirling hurricane which is my office...and takes over about half of our home depending on what I'm up to. First of all there was fun(ny) stuff.
